Alekos Fasianos studied violin at the Athens Conservatory and painting at the School of Fine Arts in the period 1956-1960 in the workshop of Giannis Moralis. He studied Ancient Greek angiography and Byzantine iconography.

He attended lithography classes at the École des beaux-arts in Paris, on a scholarship from the French government (1962-1964), close to Clairin and Dayez. In 1966 he settled in Paris, while since 1974 he lives and works in Paris and Athens.

Since 1959, the year of his first solo presentation in Athens, he has had more than eighty solo exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki, Paris, Munich, Tokyo, Hamburg, Zurich, Milan, Beirut, Stockholm, London, Melbourne, St. Petersburg. He has participated repeatedly in group exhibitions and well-known international events around the world.
