Dimitris Mytaras Born in Chalkida in June 1934. He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts (1953-1958) with teachers Giannis Moralis and Spyros Papaloukas. He continued his studies in scenography at the “lecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs” as well as interior decoration at the “Métiers d’Art” in Paris (1960-1964) with a scholarship from the I.K.Y.

In 1975 he was elected professor of ASKT. His works have been exhibited in Athens, in solo exhibitions at the galleries “Zygos”, “Astor”, “Merlin”, Art Gallery (Thessaloniki), as well as in Bologna, Florence, Rome, Genoa, etc .. In March 2008 was elected a full member of the Academy of Athens. The Academy deleted him from its yearbook because he became blind after an illness

He died on February 16, 2017, at the age of 82. He has been facing serious health problems lately.
